Every four and a half days, the world population grows by another million people. Since the industrial revolution, our population has steadily increased by a billion every 12-15 years.
In a world where water is scarce, food is no longer abundant, and shelter is a task to find, is our population truly sustainable? And could our extreme population growth be the cause of greater issues?
After the Guardian published a controversial article entitled, “Want to fight climate change? Have fewer children,” in 2017, the topic of overpopulation has been brought to light.
Now environmentalists are questioning: does more feet equal more heat? And could having one less child actually be the most viable solution to climate change?
